High Mast Lighting Pole

Material & finish: Usually heavy duty steel tubing for the carriage frame. The poles and associated components (including the carriage) are often hot‐dip galvanised (for corrosion resistance) or powder coated.Height & size: The high mast poles themselves often range from ~11 m up to 30 m or more in height. Carriage design will vary accordingly. 

Winch / lowering mechanism: Many systems include a winch (or motorised drum) that allows the lantern carriage to be lowered for maintenance. The carriage will have wire ropes, pulleys, etc.

Wire‐rope / suspension: Multiple stainless steel wire ropes (often AISI 316 or equivalent) may hold the carriage when lowering/raising. Rubber gaskets or buffer arrangements may prevent scratching the mast surface when moving. 

Wind and structural requirements: Since the carriage holds many luminaires high up, the design must account for wind loads, dynamic loading, structural strength of the mast, carriage and anchoring.

Luminaire arms / mounting: The carriage typically has arms or brackets arranged symmetrically (6, 8, 12 arms etc) for mounting multiple light fixtures.

Electrical / cable considerations: The carriage may act as a conduit o
